Keto diet shows greater metabolic benefits than Mediterranean or low-fat diets in new clinical trial

The study

Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis recruited 42 participants who had obesity, prediabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, commonly known as fatty liver). They were randomly assigned to one of three diets for four to five months:
